Criminal Justice Tenancy Sustainment Service
Description
Turning Point Scotland Criminal Justice Tenancy Sustainment Service aims to reduce the risk reoffending and promote the long term sustainability of community living for people in the justice system.
Proudly partnering Glasgow Criminal Justice Social Work, Police Scotland, Scottish Prison Service and Glasgow Homeless Casework Teams since 2018, Turning Point Scotland Criminal Justice Tenancy Sustainment Service aims to address the individual’s underlying causes of offending behaviour to reduce the risks of further reoffending.
A sense of belonging to the community, adopting a more positive identity and establishing valued roles are all central to mental health and well-being. The support offered by the service uses a psychologically informed approach to build resilience, develop core life skills and individual social capital, so individuals can use effective coping mechanisms to tackle the challenges of independent living. As well as exploring a person’s emotional needs, practical support is offered to address housing needs, build skills for tenancy sustainment and reducing the triggers for further offending.
