Aberdeen Justice Outreach Service
Description
The Aberdeen Justice Outreach Service works in partnership with Aberdeen City Council Criminal Justice Social Work to provide support to individuals involved in the justice system, who are referred exclusively by social work.
The service is designed to assist individuals in resettling into their local community and moving towards positive, independent living, while transitioning beyond community justice services.
We aim to support individuals to develop skills for independent living, such as domestic skills, budgeting, literacy, and numeracy. Our service also supports individuals in accessing further education, employment opportunities, and developing essential social skills.
Our service is committed to empowering individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve sustainable independence within a supportive framework.
Our Aberdeen office is also home to our Fair Way Scotland team who are part of a wider action learning partnership working to prevent destitution for people who are denied access to public funds because of their immigration status.
At Turning Point Scotland, our Fair Way Scotland team work across Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire and are Level 1 (EU Settlement Scheme Only) immigration advisers, accredited by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA – Registration Number N202531814). The team can therefore advise and support any EU national and their family members who are destitute because of their immigration status.
