WAYfinder Locality North West and Housing First
Description
WAYfinder is a partnership between Glasgow City Council and commissioned providers to deliver and evolve outreach services for people at risk of, experiencing, or have experienced homelessness.
Turning Point Scotland will deliver support in the North West of Glasgow through two approaches:
- Locality-based housing support for people living in temporary and permanent accommodation who have low, medium and high needs and are either experiencing homelessness or are risk of homelessness. This will include case management, one-off supports and community-based drop ins.
- Housing First is an approach, first brought to the UK by TPS in 2010, which flips the homelessness staircase model by supporting people with multiple and enduring support needs to move into a tenancy without having to prove they are ready for it. Support is provided through a multi-agency approach to provide a wrap around service for people to connect to their community, develop meaningful relationships and thrive in a place that they can call home.
