Fife Support Service
Description
Turning Point Scotland’s Fife Support Service brings the significant experience of delivering Housing First from across Scotland. The service will also include an innovative Whole System Approach jointly funded with Fife Council.
The Turning Point Scotland approach to Housing First ensures people who are experiencing homelessness and have complex needs are supported directly into a permanent tenancy, rather than having to prove they can manage a house.
Homelessness is a complex and multi-faceted issue. Ending, preventing, or responding effectively to homelessness demands input from housing but also from across the public service system – no one service, or approach is going to have all the answers. These inputs need to be coordinated and integrated, underpinned by effective communication and information sharing arrangements and overseen by a strategic structure that brings agencies together around a shared goal. This is what we mean by a Whole System Approach.
Commissioned by Fife Council we work alongside: Bethany Trust, Fife Women’s Aid and Rock Trust to deliver the Housing First model to the community.
We believe a home provides a sense of belonging, increases feelings of self-worth, makes a person feel part of their community and help move on from challenges they are facing, or have faced.
