Turning Point Scotland’s North Lanarkshire Crisis Outreach service in Airdrie hosted a Launch Day this week, inviting key partners from across the community.
The new service located in Stirling House began delivering support to people to increase their engagement with alcohol and other drugs services, in November 2023.
About 100 attendees at the drop in event, from 10am to 2pm, were able to learn more about key focuses of the service via information stalls covering; assertive outreach, crisis response, overdose response and health.
Several of key partners: Phoenix Futures, Scottish Fire Brigade, North Lanarkshire Recovery Community and Blue Triangle, also displayed information stalls at the event.
Turning Point Scotland, North Lanarkshire Crisis Outreach, Service Manager, Melissa Reid said: “I would like to thank our staff for making the Launch Day possible and showcasing the important work of our new service to reduce alcohol and other drug harms in the community.

North Lanarkshire Crisis Outreach service delivers harm reduction interventions, including provision of injecting equipment, naloxone and overdose awareness information.
There are 16 members of staff at the service, including a lead nurse who provides strategic direction for health, wound care, healthcare screening and blood borne virus testing.
The service also provides rapid response to near-fatal overdose; a short, focused period of support for individuals.
