At Turning Point Scotland, we support people who have a learning disability to live the life they wish. We deliver support in a person-centred and practical way, through providing structured and individually tailored approaches. Supporting people to build their confidence and life skills to meet their own goals.
The level of staff input will vary depending on the support that the person requires. We empower individuals to be active in their own communities, connect with family and friends, learn new skills and gain new experiences. We support people to achieve everyday skills for maintaining their home and everything that this involves.
Turning Point Scotland has invested in a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Team using a model offering a person-centred, inclusive and value-led approach, enabling people we support to achieve their personal outcomes and improve their quality of life. This approach seeks to understand behaviour with a view to improving support; informing structure, environments and cultures to empower people. The team equips staff across our mental health, learning disability and forensic services to have a greater understanding of each individual’s needs and develop robust care plans to be implemented through practice, leadership and mentoring.
