Since 2004, the South Ayrshire Learning Disability Service has delivered individually tailored support that builds confidence, resilience and independence to empower the people who use the service to live as full a life as possible within their own communities.
The service is now recruiting new staff to support young people with learning disabilities who are preparing to move into their own homes for the first time. This is a significant and positive milestone in their lives, and staff will play a vital role in making that transition a success. Citizenship is embedded throughout Turning Point Scotland. Thus, recognising each person’s right to belonging, a positive identity beyond services, and a valued role within their community. New team members will be committed to building genuine relationships and supporting people in ways that respect their individuality and aspirations.
This position involves providing person-centred support in day-to-day life, helping to plan activities and opportunities based on individual interests, offering encouragement and companionship, and promoting independence while being present when support is needed most. It includes delivering respectful personal care with dignity and compassion, enabling individuals to live as independently and confidently as possible. Support is provided in line with individual support plans, which may include personal care, while maintaining professional boundaries and upholding strict confidentiality at all times.
Turning Point Scotland is looking for people who bring energy, positivity and a readiness to embrace a new challenge. Reliability, open-mindedness and a genuine interest in building meaningful relationships are essential. Experience in social care is welcome but not required; the right values and attitude are what matter most.
Full-time and part-time positions are available, with flexible working arrangements open for discussion.
