Turning Point Scotland regrets to announce that Rosies Social Enterprises will close at the end of June. Due to a significant decrease in available funding, it is not possible to continue operating the service.
For over 25 years, Rosie’s has been an important part of the Aberdeen community. The service has supported individuals with mental health diagnoses, learning disabilities, and acquired brain injuries, providing meaningful opportunities for development and inclusion.
Rosie’s offers four specialist workshops — picture framing, graphics, crafts, and upcycling — with products created by the people we support sold through the gift shop. These activities not only build practical skills for employment but also foster confidence, independence, and a strong sense of achievement.
Lynsey Blaney, Head of North East Services said: “Over many years Rosie’s has become a recognisable sight on Holburn Street. The work of our dedicated staff raises visibility, challenges stereotypes and celebrates the talents and contributions of the people we support across Aberdeen. This closure will be a sad loss to the city, but we are very proud of the many years we have been able to provide a high-quality service to our community. The people we support, their loved ones and our employees are our priority at this time.”
